About

We are a non-profit organization that helps Abilene, Kansas residents maintain and restore their historic homes. Many of Abilene’s homes date back to its founding in 1857, when Timothy and Elizabeth Hersey first built their log cabin along the banks of Mud Creek, where the Lebold Mansion stands today.

Several of Abilene’s homes were built by Abilene legends like C.L. Brown, the telephone entrepreneur that started United Telephone, which eventually became Sprint. Explore the homes and learn about the history behind each home!
